Radon is a colorless, odorless, and tasteless radioactive gas that if found in rock, soil, and water throughout the country. As radon decays, it releases radioactive particles that can damage the lung tissues. Left undisturbed, you will not be harmed. But when a house is built and basements are dug, the radiation in the rocks are released. It can filter through leak through cracks in your foundation wall, through the concrete slab floors, and any other breaches that you may have. In order to determine if you have high levels of radiation, we will come out to your residence and place a charcoal canister in your basement for 48 hours to get air samples. We then send the canister to the lab for your test results. For more information contact the Environmental Protection Agency at www.epa.gov

Final walk through. Since the time between your inspection and your closing could be many months, a lot of problems may have occurred. A plumbing line could have burst; a storm blew away several shingles. Virtually anything is possible, you just never know. Therefore, we will accompany you on the day of your closing and look for any changes from the original inspection. We will also check any repairs that may have been completed as a result of the original inspection. |
